Docent-led Tour of The Getty Museum + Lunch
Sunday, October 5 – 10:00 am to 12:00 pm PDT  (The Getty Museum – 1200 Getty Center Dr, Los Angeles)

Our Or Ami Museum Group Tour of the GETTY MUSEUM will be led by our own Villager and Docent, Terry Abrams. Highlighting the architecture and the gardens of the Getty. After the tour, you are welcome to explore the Getty art exhibits on your own.

Museum ADMISSION: Free  |  PARKING: $25 per car – paid at museum
Meet at the tram at 10:00 am |  RSVP Required

Village Wednesdays – 
Mahjong Lessons (Session 1)
4 Wednesdays, October 8, 15, 22, 29 – 10:00 am to 12:00 pm PDT  (In-Person)

Mahjong expert Beth Cohan will be teaching anyone interested in learning Mahjong during the next four Village Wednesdays. The first three sessions are for beginners, with the fourth class offering the opportunity to hone your skills and meet other Villagers who are mahjong players. Classes are $10 each.

If Mahjong isn’t your thing, join us to play Rummy Tile, Scrabble, Skyjo, or ??? There is no fee to play these games.

Havdalah Service, Sukkot, and Potluck Dairy Dinner, with Rabbi Paul
Saturday, October 11 – 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm PDT  (at a Private Calabasas Residence)

Join us for a Special Village Event with Rabbi Paul as we enjoy Havdalah Service and Sukkot and celebrate Or Ami Village’s 6th Anniversary.

Potluck: Please bring a dairy dish or a bottle of wine to share to help us rejoice.

We are excited for you to join us for the first event of the 2025-2026 Speaker Series
It’s Complicated: Navigating Jewish Identity in a Changing World.

This event, moderated by Stacey Bieber, Skirball Cultural Center Book Club Facilitator, features a panel of authors from On Being Jewish Now, an essay collection by Jewish writers responding to the events of October 7th.

The panel includes:

  • Dr. Beth Ricanati, author of the National Jewish Book Award finalist Braided: A Journey of a Thousand Challahs
  • Elizabeth L. Silver, author of novels The Majority and The Execution of Noa P. Singleton and memoir The Tincture of Time
  • Anna Ephron-Harari, producer and co-author of The Amazing Baby Name Book

All proceeds from book sales of On Being Jewish Now to benefit The Artists Against Antisemitism.
