Daniel and Bonnie Germain
Recipients of the Keepers of the Light Award
For years, Bonnie and Daniel Germain have quietly and consistently strengthened the heart of Congregation Or Ami. They embody what it means to be a source of light, leading with humility, generosity, and deep love for this community and for the Jewish people.
Bonnie creates community wherever she goes. Through the Shabbat onegs and special gatherings she prepares or helps make possible, hundreds of participants experience the warmth and caring of Or Ami. She supports numerous charitable organizations, including the Junior State Foundation, the Saban Community Clinic, and the University Kidney Research Organization, bringing compassion and steady guidance to individuals and families alike. Professionally, Bonnie is a California Certified Public Accountant and a proud USC alumna. Alongside her daughter and partner Michelle, she provides business management, tax, and accounting services to high-net-worth clients through LA Business Management LLP in Woodland Hills.
Dan’s leadership has helped safeguard and strengthen Or Ami’s future. He has served on our Board of Directors for more than eight years and currently serves as Vice President, Board Liaison to the Security and Safety Committee, and Chair of the Premises Committee. After the Woolsey Fire caused extensive smoke damage in 2018, Dan led the effort to repair our facilities and secure meaningful compensation from both our insurer and Southern California Edison. More recently, he revised and updated our bylaws and helped establish Or Ami’s first Code of Ethics. In his professional life, Dan is a Los Angeles-based trial attorney at Rosman & Germain APC, recognized for complex civil litigation, including class actions, business disputes, securities matters, and consumer protection cases.
Together, Bonnie and Dan repeatedly open their home for programs, Men’s Nights Out, Havdalah, and synagogue fundraisers. Their presence steadies us. Their generosity lifts us. Their example inspires us.
Bonnie and Dan Germain are so touched to receive the Keepers of the Light Award, celebrating the extraordinary dedication, integrity, and heart they bring to the life, strength, and future of our sacred community. They are also thrilled to share the evening’s events with honorees Melinda and Adrian Stern, who have done so much for the Or Ami community.
