KAYLA MORRIS\' BIO

Kayla Morris, a Los Angeles native, attended Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies (L.A.C.E.S.) for high school and then moved on to receive her BA in Film Studies at Tulane University with a minor in Jewish Studies as a POSSE Scholar. Her teaching career began in outdoor education at Princeton-Blairstown Center in New Jersey before returning to California to teach science and outdoor education at YMCA Camp Surf in San Diego. She spent the last two years as an assistant Grade 2 teacher and a Grade 1-3 Science specialist at an orthodox day school in Los Angeles. Currently, Kayla is the Math/Science Specialist at Brawerman Elementary School.

Kayla is stoked to join the Or Ami team as the 4th-6th grade youth group advisor and 7th grade teacher for HUB78! Outside of the classroom, Kayla enjoys sports, traveling, camping, hiking, and spending time at the beach and with her family. Fun Fact: her favorite Jewish rituals are Shabbat and Havdalah. She is very excited to share her enthusiasm and wealth of knowledge for all things science!
