TOPIC: How can engagement in local government help your business?

About ILECE BUCKLEY WEBER:  Illece Buckley Weber moved to Agoura Hills in 1992 with her husband, Joe, and their two children, Sara and David, for its excellent schools, open space and a community with a small town feel. Soon after moving to the City, she became involved in the Fountainwood Homeowners Association and became an active parent at each of her children’s K – 12 schools.

Illece was first appointed to the Agoura Hills Planning Commission in 2006 where she served until she was elected to the City Council in 2011 and re-elected in 2015 and 2020. She has served as the City’s representative on the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Advisory Committee since 2011, and served as Mayor of Agoura Hills in 2014/2015 and 2019/2020.

Illece was raised in Encino, where both of her parents still reside. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in French from the University of Denver and after working for the Governor of Colorado for four years, she returned to the University of Denver and earned her law degree.

Illece has been practicing law with the same law partner since 1987, opening a branch office in 1997 in Westlake Village. She continues to practice civil litigation and earned her certification in mediation from the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Illece loves music, birding, bicycle riding, reading, traveling and spending time with family.
